Calling all foodies and wine lovers—your Mammoth Experience awaits! With the scenic vistas of the Eastern Sierra as a backdrop, festival attendees will taste an array of wines from around the world while also indulging in savory eats from local chefs. Between the sipping and swilling, festivalgoers are encouraged to check out our various seminars led by sommeliers at local restaurants. Beer, dessert, and a live auction round out the weekend experience.

The main events kick off on Friday evening with a Wine Walk in the Village at Mammoth. On Saturday, the Grand Tasting takes place at the Sierra Nevada Resort. Seminars are held throughout the week at various locations. See seminar lineup below:

What it means to be an “Estate Winery” with St. Supéry

In this seminar, Brad Potter (CA/AZ/NV Sales Manager for St. Supéry) will explain what it means to be an “estate winery” and why it is the best fit for them. He will also talk about their Napa Green Land & Winery certification which is a soil-to-bottle approach to environmental stewardship and winemaking, integrating holistic management practices at every step of the process. Lastly, he will cover the difference between the wineries Single Vineyard wines and their Napa Valley Estate wines and how they are made.

Wines to be tasted: 2018 Napa Valley Estate Rose, 2018 Napa Valley Estate Sauvignon Blanc, 2017 Dollarhide Sauvignon Blanc, 2016 Napa Valley Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, 2014 Dollarhide Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine will be expertly paired by Chef Jeremy Graham of Jimmy’s Restaurant.

From Airen to Zibbibo: A Tasting Tour of Europe’s Hidden Gems

Step out of your comfort zone and experience some of Europe’s most intriguing off-the-beaten path regions and white varietals just in time for summer. Led by Chloe Dickson of Folio Wine Partners and The Estates Group Import Specialist Julie Bartelson, we will take you on a tasting tour through some of Italy, Spain, Austria and France’s most interesting and lesser known regions and varietals. Wine will be paired with nice palate cleansers by Chef Jeremy Graham of Jimmy’s Restaurant.

Proceeds from Mammoth Food & Wine Experience provide crucial support for higher education and the arts through the local nonprofit founded by Dave McCoy, Mammoth Lakes Foundation. MLF is dedicated to supporting higher education and cultural enrichment in the Eastern Sierra. Successes include supporting the establishment of Cerro Coso Community College/Mammoth Campus, building and operating a student apartment facility, building and programming a 100-seat performing arts theatre, and providing college scholarships to nearly 700 local students since 2003.
